Introducing Inisfree Estates

Nestled in the bucolic countryside of Southwest Michigan, lies the beautiful Inisfree Estates. There are many parts that make up the whole experience of the estates and they are only richer together. The barn with its rustic appeal, the sweeping vistas of forest and pond that create the perfect backdrop for any occasion, and the historic inn seeped in old-time charm, all invoke a feeling of wonder and romance. You can’t help but feel in awe of the grounds, and you can easily see why it is a popular destination for weddings, corporate retreats, and weekend getaways alike.

The owners, Peggy and Bruce Van Wagoner meticulously polished their vision with care. Their seamless bespoke additions to the barn and inn only add to the experience while, simultaneously, they have found the balance between cultivating their natural surroundings and letting Mother Nature thrive.

The pièce de résistance, the historic barn, built in 1893, is an exceptional space perfect for events and wedding receptions. Completely customizable, the spacious barn allows for guests to set up the space however they imagine. High ceilings, cascading chandeliers, and vintage furniture sitting areas add to the ambiance. A little nook for catering staging is discreetly added to the back, wedding party suites, and accessible restrooms complete the space. But one cannot overlook the impressive 1920’s fully restored bar christened ‘Capone’s Bar’ for it hails from both Chicago and the era of the infamous mobster’s reign.

The barn is adjoined by a few steps is the splendid Pond View Pavilion. Overlooking the aforementioned pond, this contemporary and roomy outdoor pavilion provides breathtaking views of the grounds and is one of the onsite ceremony locations. With a nearby open fire pit, this space is also great for the reception as well.

Travel a few yards more and you will find another ceremony spot- The Butterfly Sanctuary Garden. With wisteria draped trellises, this ‘garden-in-the-round’ is perfect for intimate ceremonies and can be set up in many different configurations to delight any guest.

The Siochain ‘Peace’ Garden (Siochain meaning “peace” in Gaelic), is yet another location for ceremonies, or fantastic photo opportunities. With idyllic views of trees and flowers accented by statues and fountains, this garden is simply stunning.

Lest we not forget the vineyards and walking paths that encompass the estate to delight in as well.

The Historic Inn stands sentinel over the grounds and has been masterfully updated on the inside. Simultaneously cozy and inviting, the Inn weaves contemporary luxury with the structural elements of a bygone time. Nooks perfect for enjoying a book, and gathering spaces for socializing and dining (and drinking!) make this Bed & Breakfast the perfect spot for any getaway, wedding party, or retreat. Each of the nine spacious and individually themed suites are lavishly ornamented and comfortable. The Glebe Stone Cottage, a few steps away from the main house, is simply charming. In the summer an outdoor pool provides relief from the sun and the heat. Added bonus- there is an onsite spa featuring massage and facial treatments.

For anyone who is considering a luxurious rustic barn wedding in Southwest Michigan, one must simply visit and consider Inisfree Estates. Its upscale amenities and breathtaking views are the perfect backdrop for any celebration that guests and the happy couple will not soon forget.
