Tips for creating beautiful (and affordable!) wedding stationery

We get it. Weddings can be ridiculously expensive. That is why we’ve come up with some ways you can save on your wedding stationery but still create a wow factor for your guests!  Here are a few tips to save you some pennies:

1.  Choose a customizable template over custom design.

The Printed Event offers over 50 options of beautiful pre-designed stationery suites perfect to compliment any wedding style. Simply provide personalization information, as well as your background and font color preferences and we will take care of the rest! This will eliminate the need for design fees since the designs are already created and ready to go! Simple, easy and affordable!

2.  Review your printing options.

The Printed Event offers many print techniques and the most affordable option is our Classic Card Stock. This printing option uses our 130# smooth card stock, always printed in full color flat ink, while giving your design a nice glossy finish. We also suggest opting for one-sided cards vs. two-sided.

3.  Limit the number of pieces created.

For any wedding, the three most important traditional wedding stationery pieces are as follows: the Save the Date card, the Invitation card, and the Thank You card. You need to let your guests know about your celebration months in advance so they can put the information in their calendars and get their dancing shoes ready, that is why it is important to send a Save the Date. The Invitation is a more formal way of inviting people to your big day and makes for a great keepsake for years to come. And lastly, you will want to send a heartfelt thank you to all who attended and were kind enough to send a gift.

4.  Skip the RSVP & details cards.

On your Invitation, you always have the option of including a QR code or your wedding website link and password, which will instruct your guests to view any details, accommodations and RSVP info on your website. Technology is such a wonderful tool, why not utilize it?! This will eliminate the need for a RSVP card and a Details card.

5.  Select only your favorite must-have upgrades!

There are upgrade options out there that will elevate the look of your stationery without breaking the bank. Instead of a pocket folder, we suggest a colored belly band that matches the design of your stationery.  Love wax seals, but not the price tag for them? Try a custom sticker instead!

6.  Address & mail your stationery yourself.

While The Printed Event offers recipient envelope addressing and assembly and mailing services, you can take on this labor and save a few bucks. Get your bridesmaids together, open a bottle of wine and have a stationery assembling and addressing party! It will be a fun way for your girls to bond and get excited about the big day! If you don’t want to do any of the aforementioned, our services and fees are a great way to send out invitations stress free!

7.  Limit the number of day-of printed goods.

Allow your guests to choose their own table or seat at the reception, which will eliminate the need for table place cards, or a seating chart poster.
